The upcoming e Vitara was revealed globally sometime back, and will make its India debut on January 17 at the Auto Expo 2025!
Maruti is all set to enter the electric vehicle segment in India, and the e Vitara will be the SUV that the popular automaker will be launching as their first-ever electric offering! Maruti just released a teaser on social media through their premium “Nexa” account which confirms that the e Vitara will be sold through the Nexa outlets.
The teaser showcases a few exterior design elements and gives us a glimpse of the lower centre console. We can also spot the “Snow mode” button which is placed next to the drive mode selector. With many enthusiasts taking their beloved cars up to the snowy mountain areas of the North, the snow mode might actually come in handy! There is also a possibility of Maruti bringing the AWD variant to India, which will further make the SUV even more capable in the abovementioned conditions.
Here’s a look at the teaser:
Here’s what we can expect from the e Vitara:
Design
The e Vitara sports a modern and bold design language, featuring aggressive styling elements. The fascia features striking LED headlights with three-piece DRLs and a blacked-out bumper which houses the fog lamps. Furthermore, you get a silver skid plate that adds a sense of ruggedness.
In profile, you get 18-inch alloy wheels (or 19-inch wheels on the AWD variant), unconventional C-pillar-mounted rear door handles and body cladding.
The rear features sharp LED tail lights, a shark fin antenna, and a roof-mounted spoiler.
Interior And Features
The cabin's interior sports a new design featuring a dual-tone theme and vertically oriented AC vents. You get dual displays, one each for the infotainment and driver’s display. The two-spoke steering wheel design adds a sporty flavour inside the cabin. This steering wheel has not been seen on any Maruti Suzuki vehicle in India, yet.
In terms of features, it will get a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay and a fully digital driver’s display as well. We expect it to get features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, ADAS, and more!
Powertrain
It is expected that Maruti will offer the India-spec version of the e Vitara with the same powertrain options that can be had with the global-spec version of the electric SUV. Here is a closer look at the specifications:
