The Indian car industry is on a spree to go electric with the purpose of embracing a greener future. Maruti Suzuki, the Indian conglomerate, is all geared up to make its debut in this electric segment with its new all-electric SUV, the e Vitara, will be revealed tomorrow at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, which also begins the same day.
This new mass-market EV is set to showcase an impressive design and interior, alongside multiple battery pack options and a possible all-wheel-drive setup. If you’re wondering what Maruti has packed into this Creta rival, let’s take a detailed look below.
The e-Vitara features a bold and modern design. At the front, it sports sharp LED headlights with three-piece DRLs, a striking blacked-out bumper, fog lamps, and rugged silver skid plates that add to its aggressive look.
The side profile stands out with 18-inch alloy wheels and optional 19-inch on the AWD variant, body cladding, and unique C-pillar-mounted rear door handles.
At the back, the e-Vitara comes with sleek LED tail lights, a shark fin antenna, and a roof-mounted spoiler.
Inside, the e Vitara has a dual-tone cabin with a modern design featuring squared-off elements on the dashboard and AC vents. The highlight is the dual integrated screens that function as the infotainment system and the digital driver’s display. A new two-spoke steering wheel adds a fresh touch, making its debut in a Maruti car for the first time.
The e-Vitara is loaded with features, including a 10.1-inch infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, automatic climate control, a wireless charger, a 360-degree camera, and connected car technology.
Maruti is also introducing several firsts with the e-Vitara, such as Level-2 ADAS for advanced safety. Other safety features include front and rear parking sensors, six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold.
The e-Vitara is built on the new Heartect-e platform, developed with Toyota. This platform, designed for battery electric vehicles (BEVs), will also underpin future Suzuki and Toyota EVs. The upcoming Urban Cruiser EV will also use this platform and is set to launch in India in 2025.
Globally, the e-Vitara is offered with two battery options: a 49 kWh setup with front-wheel drive (FWD) and a 61 kWh version available with both FWD and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

If the AWD variant of the e Vitara comes to India, it could feature dual motors that produce 184 PS and 300 Nm of torque, making it the first mass-market AWD EV in the country. With an estimated range of over 500 km, it could be a great option for the mass-market electric vehicle segment.
The e-Vitara is expected to be priced at around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with upcoming models like the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV, which is also expected to launch in 2025.
