Good news, MG electric vehicle (EV) owners will be able to avail of free public fast charging for a bit longer, as the carmaker has extended its March-end deadline to June 30, 2022. New and existing ZS EV owners can continue to charge their SUVs for no cost at public chargers run by Fortum.
Free charging is limited to CCS-type public chargers that provide direct current (DC). Fortunately, this type of charger gives you the quickest charging time. An MG ZS EV can be charged to 80 percent in just 60 minutes when plugged into a 50kW charger. It offers a range of 461km on a single charge from a 50.3kWh battery pack.
Fortum offers 50/60kW DC fast chargers across Delhi-NCR, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Surat Hyderabad, Bangalore and Mohali. Comparatively slower 15/20kW DC chargers are also available, but limited to 38 spots in Hyderabad.

The 2022 MG ZS retails between Rs 22 lakh and Rs 25.88 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals the Hyundai Kona electric SUV.
