In a recent Annual General Meeting (AGM), TVS’ Managing Director Sudarshan Venu revealed that there are multiple sub-15kW electric two-wheelers in the making. Also, on the recent Q1 FY2024 earnings call, K N Radhakrishnan Director & CEO of TVS Motor revealed that the latest BMW e-eike, the CE-02 is not only designed but is also developed and manufactured by TVS (for BMW Motorrad catering to the developed markets).
Venu had already revealed the brand’s plans of co-developing sub-15kW EVs with BMW Motorrad back in June 2022. He now mentioned that “...the launch details will be announced at the appropriate time”. You can read more about the TVS-BMW e-bike here.
Sudarshan’s revelation proves TVS is taking its electric game quite seriously. Among the multiple upcoming EVs, one of them is set to be unveiled on August 23.
Lastly, despite facing challenges like the FAME 2 subsidy revision and policy ambiguity, TVS has managed to receive around 30,000 bookings for its TVS iQube series. Radhakrishnan assured the margins in EV business continue to be positive despite the challenges. He also said that there may be some slowness in the market in penetration but the company is confident that it’ll move to the earlier committed numbers, especially considering the kind of improvements TVS has done in the supply-chain side.
