Ola Electric has finally rolled out its MoveOS 3 OTA update, thereby introducing many features that were promised at the S1 Pro’s debut last year along with some new ones. Here’s a lowdown on every new feature that this update brings:
The EV maker has been setting up its Hypercharger network across the country, and this new feature enables fast-charging on its e-scooter. Using the Hypercharger, Ola Electric claims, one can add 50km range in 15 minutes.
With the MoveOS 3, users can now opt between three levels of regenerative braking – Low, Default and High. While the ’Low’ mode should be good for chill rides, ‘High’ can be helpful in demanding riding conditions, especially stop-go traffic.
With this feature, when you are out holidaying, your Ola S1 Pro too could just relax for up to 200 days without worrying about deep discharge. This is achieved by shutting down a bunch of background processes.
With the MoveOS 2, one of our biggest grouses was the single-user access to the e-scooter. With this update, that has changed. And now, not only can you have multiple user options but also carry their setting and preferences across scooters.
Furthermore, with the proximity lock/unlock feature, you don’t have to bother punching in the password or unlocking the e-scooter via the mobile application anymore. And yes, now you can even have WiFi connectivity on your S1 Pro.
Promised at the Ola S1 pro’s launch last year, this feature has been finally rolled out to the public now. The three ‘moods’ – Bolt, Vintage and Eclipse – each have a customisable theme and even a unique ‘exhaust’ note.
It has the speakers and now it can groove to the music with a light show too! Yes, with the Party mode, the scooter syncs its lights with the music for a proper light show.
With the MoveOS 3, users can see call notifications on the dash, however, we still aren’t sure whether you can answer calls like on the Ather 450X.
Ola Electric has now even incorporated a feature to upload your licence, Aadhar number and other documents and access them through the console.
Ola Electric also claims there are a bunch of performance enhancements to the S1 Pro with this update. These include better acceleration in Hyper and Sport modes, increased top speed in Eco Mode, better visibility and increased accuracy when it comes to the vital scooter stats such as DTE (distance to empty), battery percentage and TTC (time-to-charge).
But does the MoveOS 3 really offer an enhanced riding experience and sport a seamless UI? Stay tuned for our detailed coverage on this update.
