From ‘Moods’ UI themes to Hill-Hold Control, the new update promises a lot

It seems as if Ola Electric is determined to make a lot of noise this Diwali. Just a day after teasing the upcoming affordable variant of the S1, the EV maker has now confirmed the launch of the MoveOS 3.0 update. The teaser mentions that the S1’s 5.5kW motor “is about to speak up”. Here’s what that could mean:

‘Moods’ Will Finally Be A Reality

During the Ola S1 Pro’s debut last year, the company had promised a unique feature called ‘Moods’. With this feature, not only would the UI theme change, but also get dedicated ‘engine’ revs. Originally, the company had shown ‘Bolt’, ‘Care’, ‘Vintage’ and ‘Wonder’ moods. Let’s see if all of these come to life with the MoveOS 3.0 update.

Bhavish Aggarwal had tweeted that the upcoming MoveOS 3.0 update would get features like hill-hold, proximity unlock, ride moods, regenerative braking V2, hypercharging, calling and key sharing. However, the Ola Electric CEO also mentioned the possibility of other new features.

You Can “Talk” To Your Ola

One of them could be voice assistance. This is a feature that could make using features like navigation, calling and music control a lot easier than having to go through menus or toggling switches. However, to execute a feature like this, the rider needs to have his Bluetooth device paired to the e-scooter.

The Ola S1 Pro is bound to get all of the new features that the company has promised. However, some of these may not be passed to the affordable S1. What would make things interesting, though, is how many of these features would come to the new variant which is likely to be priced on a par with the Honda Activa.
