More Features at less price, who did it better?

Ola S1 Air vs TVS iQube Standard

In order to bring electrification to the masses, Ola Electric launched its most affordable e-scooter, the S1 Air at an astonishing introductory price of Rs 84,999 (ex-showroom Delhi with Fame II), which is the same as a petrol-powered scooter. What’s interesting though is that the low price does not compromise on the features. And here’s how it fares against another affordable premium EV, the TVS iQube Standard, in terms of features.

These are the major features that both the e-scooters come packed with. As you can see, despite being the more affordable one, the S1 is superior in terms of what it features as opposed to its rival, the iQube.

Ola S1 Air

When it comes to the claimed IDC range, both e-scooters boast a respectable figure of 100km on the iQube and 101km on the S1 Air. The top speed, however, is where things change. The S1 Air gets a top speed of 85kmph whereas the iQube can reach a slightly less top speed of 78kmph.

TVS iQube Standard

The iQube Standard is priced at Rs 1,10,056 (ex-showroom Delhi with Fame II), which is about Rs 25,000 more than the S1 Air’s introductory price. Would you consider paying a significant premium for fewer features and slightly less performance? Considering when we did ride the iQube Electric’s S variant, we were pretty impressed by its practicality and value for money (you can check out that review here). However, if the S1 Air arrives with none of the seemingly troubling issues like the ones we faced with the S1 Pro, we think it could be the better pick. Stay tuned for a proper road test.
