A recent post from a Twitter user named Mannu Bhardwaj has revealed the prices of the Ola S1’s battery packs, and they are expensive!
While the S1’s 3kWh battery pack costs Rs 66,549, the S1 Pro’s 4kWh unit will burn a hole in your pocket of Rs 87,298. That is not only more expensive than most of the petrol-powered scooters like the Honda Activa 6G but also the S1 Air variant of the e-scooter.
Is it true?

Battery cost of ola S1 & ola S1 pro.
Ola S1 - 66549 /- Rs
Ola S1 pro - 87298 /- Rs.
if you want to beat the ICE vehicles in all aspects We will expect a better price & price drop in battery from ola electric after five years @OlaElectric @bhash @Khalidaaalbadri pic.twitter.com/Xr0rntQBhC
Now, Ola uses Lithium-ion battery packs, which are generally high in cost. That coupled with the costs of importing battery cells, the prices of the battery packs go up even higher.
However, Ola has been working on manufacturing its own battery cells, and when that production ramps up, we expect that the prices of these battery packs will reduce by a big margin. Apart from that the lithium deposits discovered in Jammu recently might help bring down cell production costs, also help reduce battery manufacturing costs in general in India.
Ola S1 is priced at Rs 1,09,999, and the S1 Pro variant costs Rs 1,29,999 (ex-showroom Delhi Incl Fame II).
