Ola Electric recently rolled out its MoveOS 2.0 operating system for the S1 Pro electric scooter. This is an OTA update that not only introduces some long overdue geeky features but also promises to iron out a few glitches owners have been facing so far.
We have been testing out the S1 Pro with the MoveOS 2.0, and have summarised our experience with the new OTA update here. The scooter finally gets onboard navigation with the latest operating system, but we had a mixed experience with navigation. As the system uses MapmyIndia service, some of the locations we tried were not listed, and for the ones that were, there was a “Server Unreachable” error.
However, Ola states that to ensure seamless usage of the navigation feature, a hardware upgrade might be required to fix the GPS antenna. They have also advised that if any S1 Pro owner faces this issue, they can initiate a voluntary upgrade request to resolve the concern through the Vehicle Support number listed on their Ola App.
In addition to the navigation feature, the MoveOS 2.0 also showcases a new ‘ECO’ riding mode, companion app, music through the inbuilt speakers and cruise control. While all these new updates are much welcome, Ola is yet to deliver on the ‘Moods’ functionality, along with Hill Hold Control and Voice Assist functionality. Are these some things we’ll see in MoveOS 3.0 then?
