When it comes to setting world records for cars, one name that instantly comes to mind is Rimac. The Croatian carmaker, with its Nevera hypercar, is a known name for pushing limits and shattering records. And guess what, the Nevera has broken yet another record, though in a slightly different and unusual way this time.
The latest record to be clinched by the Nevera is by going max attack… in… wait for it… reverse! Yes, you read that right. The run took place at the Automotive Testing Papenburg facility in Germany, and was executed by Rimac test driver Goran Drndak.
For a look at this incredible feat, watch this video:
Its four electric motors managed to propel the car backward to a top speed of a whopping 275.74kmph. Incidentally, this is nearly identical to the top speed of the Lamborghini Miura, which it managed with its mighty V12 heart back in 1967. Rimac says the lack of gears in electric motors means the Nevera can go backwards or forwards in full force.
In fact, the Nevera puts out some hair-raising numbers. It is propelled by four electric motors belting out an astonishing 1914PS and 2360Nm. Pedal to the metal, and it will do 0-100kmph in just 1.81 seconds, and 0-300kmph in 9.22 seconds before maxing out at 402kmph. Powering all of this is a 120kWh battery pack, ensuring you have enough juice to do such records.

In fact, Rimac has over 20 Guinness records that the Nevera managed to shatter. Just shows the potential of the electric hypercar, which is mind-boggling to say the least. The Nevera goes up against other high-performance electric cars such as the Pinifarina Battista.
