Lotus has officially set shop in India, opening its first outlet in New Delhi. The British marque’s first model for our shores is the Eletre, which has been launched from Rs 2.55 crore (ex-showroom). Lotus’ first-ever electric SUV offers drool-worthy looks, an immaculately crafted cabin, and bonkers performance.
It comes to India in three variants and here are the prices:
Variant |
Ex-showroom Price |
Eletre |
Rs 2.55 crore |
Eletre S |
Rs 2.75 crore |
Eletre R |
Rs 2.99 crore |
The Lotus Eletre’s design and aesthetics is striking and it looks very sporty. Its front is characterised by a low-slung stance with sleek L-shaped LED headlights and a prominent front air dam, giving it a very aggressive vibe.
In profile, the silhouette with its sloping roofline, closely resembles the Lamborghini Urus. Add the meticulously crafted 5-spoke alloy wheels to the mix and you have a profile that looks really bold. The sloping roofline flows to meet a raked tailgate, which gets sleek connected LED tail lamps, and an aggressively styled bumper.
Step inside the Eletre and you get a luxurious and spacious cabin. Your eyes will be drawn to the large 15.1-inch floating infotainment touchscreen through which you can control all the functions of the car. The digital driver's display enhances the modern feel, and a unique addition is a third display dedicated to the passenger. Furthermore, the rear view cameras project their feed onto separate screens positioned below the A-pillars.

At the moment, the Lotus Eletre doesn’t have any direct rivals at this price point as the Jaguar I-Pace and BMW iX cost much less. That said, it does fend off competition from other ICE-powered performance SUVs such as the Audi RS Q8, Lamborghini Urus, and BMW XM.
