Deliveries of the electric scooter will be delayed until the first quarter of 2023

Bengaluru-based Simple Energy has announced that the deliveries of its flagship electric scooter, the SImple One, has been pushed to the first quarter of 2023. As per a statement from the company, the decision has been taken so that the battery pack adheres to the safety guidelines issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways recently.

This is not the first time the company has deferred the delivery timeline of its electric scooter. In fact, not only did Simple Energy promise to commence dispatches of the e-scooter to its customers in October 2022, but had also started with its test ride camps in 11 cities across the nation.

We had also ridden the pre-production version of this electric scooter a few months ago, and we were floored by its potential. Other than the overall plastic quality of the scooter, there weren’t any major flaws with the product.

The Simple One has been priced at Rs 1,09,999 for the standard variant and Rs 1,44,999 (both prices ex-showroom) for the extended battery version which has a claimed IDC range of over 300km.

Even though the delay is disappointing, we hope that next year the company begins deliveries of its product with quality that matches its performance.
