Six electric Skodas confirmed by 2026.
The lineup will include a range of vehicles with different body styles.
New electric compact SUV, called Elroq, the Karoq successor, will debut in 2024.
New generation Superb and Kodiaq teased, global unveil later this year.
Octavia to get an update in 2024, Enyaq iV and Enyaq iV Coupe facelifts in 2025.
Combi electric estate and seven-seater EV based on Vision 7S concept to surface in 2026.
A shift to an all-electric lineup is inevitable. While some manufacturers have already sorted out and framed what their transition will look like, Skoda is doing so only now. The Czech carmaker has announced the arrival of six electric vehicles by 2026, which will include different body styles spanning various segments, including a new compact SUV and small EV. But it’s not just raining electric vehicles from the Czech carmaker as Skoda has given us its plans concerning ICE models as well.
Alongside the Enyaq model family, the complete range of all-electric models will include a 4.1-metre long ‘Small’, a 4.5-metre long ‘Compact’, a 4.7-metre long ‘Combi’ estate and a seven-seater ‘Space' EV spanning a length of 4.9 metres.
The ‘Compact’ electric SUV, called the Elroq, will be the electric successor of the Karoq and will shed covers globally sometime in 2024. The Enyaq lineup, including the Enyaq iV Coupe, with a refreshed styling will surface in 2025, while the Combi - Skoda’s first electric estate (likely to be Octavia’s electric equivalent) and the seven-seater Space EV that is based on the Vision 7S concept (probably Kodiaq’s EV equivalent) are slated for 2026.
The whole range of upcoming EVs seem to follow Skoda’s new “Modern Solid” design language, but not much can be said about the overall design, given that just clay models have been showcased up until now.
While the overall focus for electrification is strong, ICE models won’t be dropped entirely as they will continue to be a part of the lineup alongside plug-in hybrid powertrains. The Kamiq and Scala will be updated this year, while the Kodiaq, Superb and Superb Combi (estate) will be launched in their new generation avatars. The Octavia is due for a facelift in 2024.
Given that the new generation Kodiaq and Superb aren’t too far away from a reveal, the carmaker has dropped a new teaser showcasing their silhouettes for the first time alongside a few details. The latter includes information about their powertrain options - petrol, diesel, mild- and plug-in hybrid. More technical details will surface closer to its unveiling.
The only other things that are evident from the teaser are the sleek LED headlights and tail lamps. The carmaker also revealed that although the exterior will be new for both the models, it will be the cabin that will get the more comprehensive revision with new features and tech.
Once all these models dump their covers come 2026, Skoda will have the broadest product range that it has ever had in its portfolio, with a mix of EVs, hybrids and ICE models. But closer to home, the new Superb and Kodiaq could arrive at our shores soon, sometime in 2024, along with the updated Octavia. Even before that, the performance-oriented Octavia RS iV is slated for an India launch as a fully imported unit, hopefully sometime this year.
