Hero MotoCorp has stepped into the premium electric mobility space with the Vida V1 e-scooter under its new Vida sub-brand. Here’s a detailed look at the swanky new Hero Vida e-scooter, which is available in two variants – V1 Plus and V1 Pro.
On the design front, the Hero Vida V1 comes off as an amalgamation of a simplistic yet futuristic approach. The bodywork is sharp, clearly intended to play on performance, to present a sporty design.
A quick glance at the scooter, and the striking LED headlight DRL is bound to catch your sight. This dual headlight configuration is elegant, and yet looks like something out of a sci-fi movie.
What stands out here, though, is the rear profile of the scooter, and that’s mainly because the pillion seat is detachable. Yes! That’s right. You can choose to ditch the pillion seat, and yet retain the storage space on this scooter.
Besides the futuristic design, the Vida V1 boasts of a plethora of features too, as it is equipped with a 7-inch TFT touchscreen display with smartphone connectivity, along with turn-by-turn navigation and an option to store rider and vehicle documents. It also gets four ride modes – Eco, Ride, Sport and Custom.
It gets a unique switchgear with an SOS button, and also comes equipped with cruise control and a two-way throttle, with parking and boost functions.
Powering the Vida V1 is an IP68-rated motor paired to a pair of removable IP67-rated battery packs: a 3.44kWh unit in the V1 Plus and 3.94kWh unit in the V1 Pro. The Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) range of the V1 Plus and V1 Pro are claimed to be 143km and 165km respectively. While the claimed 0-40kmph time is 3.2 seconds and 3.4 seconds respectively for the V1 Plus and V1 Pro, the claimed top speed for both scooters is 80kmph.
Underpinnings on the Vida V1 include a telescopic fork, while braking duties are shared between a front disc and rear drum brake. It rolls on 12-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in MRF Nylogrip Zapper G rubber.
The Vida V1 Plus is priced at Rs 1,45,000, while the V1 Pro costs Rs 1,59,000 (ex-showroom). This new e-scooter will take on the likes of the Ather 450X, Ola S1 Pro, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak . Head to our launch story for booking details and delivery timelines.
