The highly anticipated Tata Curvv EV has been launched in the Indian autospace turning heads around and garnering a lot of attention. Bookings for the Curvv EV have already started at Rs 21,000 across dealership networks and the EV is available in five broad trim levels namely: Creative, Accomplished, Accomplished + S, Empowered and Empowered + A. In this article, we take a closer look at the second variant (one-above-base) ‘Accomplished’, and see what all it packs in.
The Tata Curvv EV Accomplished variant looks identical to the top-spec trims of the EV. The connected DRLs up front and sequential indicators gives it an upmarket appeal, but misses out on welcome and goodbye animation and charging indication. This variant comes with LED projector headlamps and fog lamps with cornering function over the base variant.
The side profile gets the sloping roofline design and gets flush-type door handles, making the latter a unique design cue in the segment. The Accomplished variant gets 17-inch alloy wheels with aero-inserts. This variant also gets auto-folding ORVMs.
The rear end of the Curvv EV gets connected tail-lights which aren't available in the base variant. Lower down below a huge chunk of piano black finish on the bumper along with silver finished skid plate, which completes the look of the SUV-coupe.
The Tata Curvv EV Accomplished variant comes with the red-themed interiors with leatherette upholstery. A front armrest has been added here along with a cooled and illuminated glovebox. You also get modern-day charging options with a front and rear fast-charging 45W type C port. It features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display with integrated maps for the driver. While the higher variants get a premium JBL sound system, the Accomplished variant just suffices with a 4-speaker and 4-tweeter sound system.
Another miss in the cabin is the highly desirable panoramic sunroof which is limited to higher trims of the Curvv EV. Along with that, it also misses out on a 360 degree surround view camera, as this variant just gets a rear parking camera with sensors.
But despite a few misses, it gets niceties like an automatic climate control, rear AC vents, and multiple drive modes along with the aforementioned digital screens. The Curvv EV also gets vehicle to load (V2L) technology which lets you share power with other EV’s or even power up appliances.
On the safety front, the Accomplished variant is well stacked with equipment like 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, all-wheel disk brakes, air-purifier and tyre pressure monitoring system. Unfortunately, this particular variant misses out on the ADAS suite.
The Accomplished variant is offered with both Medium Range and Long Range models.
The smaller 45 kWh battery pack paired to the electric motor churns out 150 PS and 215 Nm, boasting a claimed range of up to 502 km.
The larger 55 kWh battery pack paired to the electric motor churns out 167 PS and 215 Nm, and boasts a claimed range of up to 585 km. Using the 70 kW fast-charger, the Curvv EV can be juiced up from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 40 minutes.
The Tata Curvv EV prices ranges between Rs 17.49 lakh and Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom), with the Accomplished 45 (Medium Range) variant being priced at Rs 18.49 lakh and Accomplished 55 (Long Range) priced at Rs 19.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The Curvv EV Accomplished is offered in four exterior colour shades to choose from namely: Flame Red, Pristine White, Pure Grey, and Virtual Sunrise.
The Tata Curvv EV rivals other EVs in the market like the MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, Mahindra XUV400 EV and will rival the upcoming MG Windsor EV and Hyundai Creta EV.
