Tata has launched the Curvv EV SUV coupe on our shores for Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It is a larger and more premium alternative to the Nexon EV SUV, but its unique selling point would be its eye-catching design with a sloping roofline. Bookings will officially commence from August 12 onwards and for those who want to take a quick look at what the Curvv EV offers, you can check it out in our image gallery:
What stands out design-wise is its SUV-coupe body style, which makes sure that the Curvv EV stand apart from the conventionally styled SUVs.
Up front, the Curvv EV features a closed grille and gets connected LED DRLs that can even show the charging status. The LED headlights are located below in the bumper inside triangular housings. The fascia might remind you of other Tata SUVs like the Punch EV and Nexon EV, which get similar design elements.
From the sides, you get 18-inch aero-specific alloy wheels that nicely fill up the large wheel arches. The key attraction here is the sloping roofline, which ensures it will look unique on the road. And, if that wasn’t enough to grab attention, it also gets flush door handles with LED illumination, which is a first in its segment.

The Curvv EV is available in 5 different colours: Virtual Sunrise, Pure Grey, Pristine White, Flame Red, and Empowered Oxide. Certain of these paint options are limited to specific variants.
The rear gets connected LED tail lights, which covers the width of the boot, and gets welcome and goodbye functionality. It also comes with a silver skid plate to add a bit of ruggedness and an upright stance, which makes it appear taller than it really is. You also get a shark fin antenna and a roof-mounted twin spoiler, which adds a hint of sportiness to it.
The cabin of the Curvv EV looks and feels modern and upmarket to say the least. While most of it looks identical to the Nexon EV’s dashboard, it also carries certain design elements from the Harrier SUV. The cabin theme varies depending on the variant you pick. Moreover, a strip of ambient light runs across it and extends into the doorpads, which add a sense of premiumness.
The dashboard is dominated by the large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Right below it are the sleek AC vents and a touch-sensitive climate control panel in the middle as seen on other new cars from Tata. It also gets the four-spoke steering wheel housing the backlit 'Tata' emblem from the Tata Harrier.
The rear seats come with a recline functionality for added comfort and convenience. You can watch our six foot tall editor sit behind to get a sense of space on offer.
It boasts a 500-litre boot space, which can be extended to 973 litres by folding down the seats. Speaking of which, the rear seats come with 60:40 split functionality for added convenience.
Features onboard include the aforementioned touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital-driver’s display, a wireless phone charger, a panoramic sunroof, rear AC vents, powered tailgate with gesture control, powered driver seats, ventilated front seats, a 320W 9-speaker JBL audio system, and multi-colour ambient lighting.
In terms of safety, it gets six airbags as standard across all variants, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill hold and hill start assist, front and rear parking sensors, and a suite of Level-2 ADAS features.
The Curvv EV is available in 2 battery pack options: a Medium Range and a Long Range. The Medium Range features a 45 kWh battery pack, while the Long Range gets a 55 kWh battery pack. Both battery packs are paired with a front-wheel drive electric motor, which produces 150 PS/215 Nm with the Medium Range and 167 PS/ 215 Nm with the Long Range.
The Medium Range offers a claimed range of 502 km, while the Long Range can go up to a claimed 585 kms on a full charge. However, a real-world range of 400-420 km can be expected. The Long Range variant of the Curvv EV can go from 0-100 kmph in 8.6 seconds while the Medium Range takes 9 seconds.
The Tata Curvv EV can charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 40 minutes using a 70 kW fast charger. It is also vehicle to load (V2L) and vehicle to vehicle (V2V) compatible, which means you can charge other electric appliances as well as other electric vehicles.
The Tata Curvv EV also gets the Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS), which produces a low pitch sound to alert the pedestrians when the vehicle is under 20 kmph.
The Tata Curvv EV is priced from Rs 17.49 lakh to Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with the MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV400, lower variants of the BYD Atto 3 and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV. It is also an electric alternative to SUVs like the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
