UPDATE: Tata Motors has launched the Curvv EV in India from Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Tata Curvv EV, set to launch tomorrow on August 7, has reached dealerships ahead of its launch on August 7. The SUV-coupe will be on display in showrooms post its official launch and test drives are expected to commence after that. For now, dealerships are accepting bookings for the Tata Curvv, which will launch as an EV first, followed by the ICE version expected in September.
While we get to see the Curvv EV in its flesh for the first time tomorrow, teasers, spy shots and these images have given a clear look at its design. Its unique selling point is obviously, its sloping roofline, which makes it stand out from the sea of compact SUVs.
Adding to the mix are modern elements like the connected LED DRL and tail lamps, both of which have this welcome and goodbye functionality with cool lighting graphics. Other design highlights include the minimalist fascia, flush door handles and the aero-specific alloys. To take a closer look at the Curvv EV’s design, head to our image gallery.
Recent teaser images have confirmed that the upcoming Tata Curvv EV will utilise the Nexon’s dashboard, albeit with a different colour scheme and trim inserts. Another differentiating element is the presence of Harrier’s four-spoke steering wheel instead of the Nexon’s two-spoke unit. We could also see the presence of ambient lighting on the dashboard, which extends all the way into the doorpads.
The teaser also confirmed the Curvv EV’s features list, which includes a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, single-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, ventilated front seats and a wireless phone charger.
Passenger safety is taken care of by six airbags (as standard), ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera and ADAS.
The Curvv EV will utilise Tata’s Acti.ev dedicated electric vehicle platform. Like other of its EV offerings, the Curvv EV is expected to come with two powertrain options – Standard and Long Range – with an expected claimed range of around 500 km.
One can expect the upcoming Tata Curvv EV to be priced from around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with the MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3 as well as upcoming models such as the Maruti Suzuki eVX and Hyundai Creta EV.
