Tata Motors is all set to launch the long-range Nexon EV on May 11 and if you had your eyes set on one, select dealerships are readily accepting bookings for the upcoming battery-powered SUV. The long-range Nexon EV is likely to be sold alongside the standard model and will get minor cosmetic and feature enhancements.
The important upgrades will be underneath the skin and although the EV’s specifications are still under wraps, the Nexon EV long-range is expected to get a larger 40kWh battery pack (up from the standard model’s 30kWh). It’s likely to be paired with a more powerful 136PS electric motor as hinted by a Delhi RTO document.
As a result, the soon-to-be launched EV should have a better range than the current model’s 312km ARAI-claimed range on a single charge. The new model should support fast charging for ease of convenience.
When it comes to design, the Nexon EV long-range will largely be similar to the standard SUV, albeit with minor differences including revised alloy rims and, for better stopping power, rear disc brakes.
It’s likely to get feature additions that debuted in the ICE Nexon including ventilated front seats, cruise control, electronic stability control, auto-dimming IRVM, and an air purifier. The other features, including the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, and a sunroof will be carried forward.

The Nexon EV long-range is expected to command a premium over the standard model that’s priced from Rs 14.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Its specifications will now put it on a par with the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric.
