As standard, the Max gets a 3.3kW home charging option. But by paying Rs 50,000 extra, customers can avail of a bigger 7.2kW AC charger from Tata to bring down charge times. Like the standard model, the Max gets an 8-year/1.6 lakh km warranty on its electric motor and battery.
It’s not just the powertrain that Tata has tinkered around with either, as there are a handful of welcome additions too. These include the availability of electronic stability control (ESC), hill descent control, adjustable regenerative braking, rear disc brakes for better stopping power, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and an illuminated gear selector with ‘Park’ mode.
And there are some new additions to the features department: cruise control, auto-dimming IRVM, ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger, tyre pressure monitoring system, and an air purifier. The standard Nexon EV’s equipment have been carried forward too, including the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument display, a sunroof, connected car tech, and automatic climate control.
Save for the revised 5-spoke 16-inch alloys, the exterior design of the new ‘Max’ remains the same as the standard Nexon EV, which is no bad thing. This variant gets a new Intensi Teal, Daytona Grey, along with Pristine White colour choices, all getting dual tone options as standard in the Max.
The Tata Nexon EV Max’ specifications are on a par with the Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV. Yes, the Tata is on the pricier side, but it still is a whole lot more affordable than its more premium rivals.
