Fresh spy shots from Karnataka have shown that BMW is testing the CE 02 electric bike in India. Interestingly, the e-bike was unveiled in July this year, and at that time we couldn’t help but think that it was offering too little for the price it was charging. So why would BMW test it in India?
For starters, the CE 02 has been developed by TVS. Plus, you see, most major manufacturers now already have something in their electric portfolio. Not wanting to be left behind, BMW might’ve brought the CE 02 even if to just test it out for now. Sure the bike isn’t exactly good value for money, but it does have the BMW appeal and is quite funky. Given that the BMW C 400 GT, a Rs 11.25 lakh (ex-showroom) scooter, exists, the CE 02 could find its own niche too. All in all, we can’t really rule out its India launch.
If it does come here, we think it could be priced similar to the recently launched TVS X, which is priced at Rs 2,49,990 (ex-showroom).
