MG Motor India has announced prices of the country’s smallest four-seater EV, the Comet. The ultra compact electric vehicle retails in India from Rs 7.98 lakh and comes to the country in one single variant. It’s basically a rebadged version of the Wuling Air EV sold in the Indonesian market. Bookings are set to open on May 15, while test drives will commence from April 27 onwards.
In terms of styling, the Comet EV features a boxy shape with a tall-boy silhouette. Its front-end gets two square-shaped LED headlamps with a LED DRL strip running above it. And the same design analogy is present at the rear with the tail lamps and LED strip. In profile, the Comet rolls on 12-inch steel wheels.
On the inside, the MG Comet EV gets dual 10.25-inch screens comprising the digital driver’s display and touchscreen infotainment system. It also gets a two-spoke steering wheel with Apple iPod-like buttons for the controls and physical AC knobs. For accessing the rear cabin, the co-driver seat gets a one-touch flip function.
