Foxtron is Foxconn’s automotive division and a joint venture with Yulon group.
Foxtron has three other models on the cards - Model E, Model C and Model T.
The Model B hatchback will be based on the MiH open-source EV platform.
Technical details are still under wraps.
The hatchback will be fully unveiled on October 18.
The tech-savvy know Foxconn as the company that produces iPhones for Apple in multiple factories worldwide. It even has a factory in India making iPhones since 2019. But the lesser-known fact is that the Taiwan tech giant is the world's largest electronics manufacturer.
In 2021, Foxconn decided to go against Tesla by venturing into the all-electric space by unveiling three new EVs under the Foxtron brand.
Foxtron has now unveiled a new electric hatchback which it calls the Model B. Expected to rival the Tesla Model Y, the hatchback will join Foxtron’s remaining three models that are in the pipeline – Model E, Model C and Model T. As a soft reveal, Foxtron has released images of the car with some basic information while a full-blown unveil is expected to happen on October 18.

The hatchback is built on Foxconn’s MiH (Mobility in Harmony) platform which was created in 2020. The MiH is an open-source skateboard EV platform, more like the android of all-electric space. It is led by a consortium which includes brands such as Tata Technologies, Microsoft, Yulon, etc. Since its inception, it is reported that over 1,600 brands have joined the consortium.
The Foxtron Model B is a product of the premier Italian design house Pininfarina. It is a fairly boxy hatchback which lends a crossover-ish vibe with the tall stance and large wheels that you can easily mistake for a Volkswagen.
Standout elements are the huge DRL that take up significant space at the front and similarly styled tail lamps. All technical details are under wraps as of now. The MiH platform supports dual and single-motor setups with up to 870PS and 1,000Nm and 800km of range.

The already unveiled Model C is a large crossover with a claimed range of 700km. Meanwhile, the Model C is a luxury sedan with an even more impressive range of 750km (claimed).
Production of the Model B will commence in China next year followed by another run in Ohio, the USA in 2024. Foxconn had taken over GM’s Lordstown plant in Ohio and that is where the Model B will be produced.
