Toyota has unveiled the electric Urban Cruiser on the global stage. This compact electric SUV is slated to make its debut at the 2025 Brussels Motor Show, followed by a UK market launch in the third quarter of 2025. We anticipate the Japanese marque will introduce the Urban Cruiser EV in India by December 2025. Unlike its previous iteration, which was a rebadged version of the Maruti Brezza, this newer version moves up a segment, as it is now the rebadged version of the upcoming Maruti eVX electric SUV.
In pursuit of saving you from wondering what the new Toyota Urban Cruiser brings to the table, we’ve detailed all the key information for you below:
The Toyota Urban Cruiser, despite being a rebadged version of the Maruti eVX and having a similar silhouette, has got a distinctive frontal design. The dimensions of the electric SUV are provided in the table below.

The nose of the Urban Cruiser features a blacked-out panel that houses LED lighting elements, including small pixel-shaped LED DRL elements. Unlike the eVX, which gets a busy-looking bumper with its huge air dam, the Urban Cruiser sports a much cleaner nose with a rather simple airdam design.
Moving to the side, the SUV has thick black body cladding that extends over the wheel arches, giving it a rugged character. This is further accentuated by 18-inch to 19-inch alloy wheels with full covers.
The charging port is placed on the left fender, just above the wheel arch. The ORVMs are blacked out and the rear door handles are neatly hidden aside the window panel, something as we’ve seen in the new Mahindra BE 6.
Just like the fascia, the rear also has a black panel housing the taillights, featuring square pixel-shaped LED elements. The SUV will be available in multiple colour options, including dual-tone body paints including black roofs.
The cabin is reminiscent of the Maruti eVX, but with a different black/grey theme. However, the two spoke steering, dual screen setup and a front centre console bridge integrated with the armrest are exactly like the Maruti. At the rear, it gets sliding rear seats which helps in expanding legroom or bootspace as per passenger’s convenience.
It will come equipped with confirmed features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment which will likely support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 12-colour ambient lighting, powered driver seat, a fixed glass roof and a premium JBL sound system.
Safety wise it will be having multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera with front and rear parking sensors as well as ADAS features like pre-collision system, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert and lane keep assist.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser electric-SUV will be offered with two battery pack options and both front-wheel and all-wheel drivetrains.

The smaller battery pack will be offered only with the front-wheel-drive configuration, while the larger battery pack will include an all-wheel-drive option as well. The larger pack also delivers a substantial performance boost, producing 184 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque. Toyota has yet to disclose the official range figures for this new electric SUV, but we expect it to be claimed up to 550 km.
It remains to be seen which of these powertrain options will make its way in here, when the car is launched in India.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser will sit in the electric compact SUV segment as the counterpart to the Maruti eVX and will likely be priced around the Rs 23 lakh mark (ex-showroom). It will compete against the likes of Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.
