Delhi-based electric startup Trouve Motor has teased its first electric sports bike. The company plans to launch the e-bike and commence pre-bookings in the beginning of the second half of this year, presumably in July.
Trouve Motor’s claims about its upcoming faired electric bike are pretty tall. The company says it is powered by a liquid-cooled AC-induction motor producing 40kW, and allows the bike to accelerate from 0-100kmph in 3 seconds. The claimed top speed stands at 200kmph, whereas the claimed range stands at 350-500km. Other notable features include an all-LED lighting system, 360-degree camera, TFT touchscreen instrument cluster, with connectivity and GPS navigation.

The electric bike employs Brembo discs with dual-channel ABS, and it also uses adjustable suspension, as per Trouve Motor. Trouve says it also has five more models (developed in the same platform as the upcoming faired bike) in the pipeline, including a classic-styled e-bike, a cafe racer, a naked street bike, an enduro and a scrambler. All of these will be designed and developed from scratch at Trouve’s R&D centre in IIT Delhi and its facility at Bengaluru.
The startup recently joined ‘Raise Capital’ program, hosted by a Dubai-based venture capital firm FasterCapital, to raise about USD 3 million for its seed funding round. To achieve Trouve’s ambitions, FasterCapital will connect the company with its network of angel investors.
All in all, the claimed specification figures are pretty impressive, but we hope the company delivers on its promises. Talking about Indian electric superbikes, Emflux Motors, a Bengaluru-based EV startup, unveiled its first electric bike, the Emflux One, at the 2018 Auto Expo. However, the company has been silent since then.
