Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e battery specifications and power figures have been revealed

Mahindra will be extending its electric vehicle lineup in India by launching the BE 6e and XEV 9e SUVs. Both of them will be unveiled on November 26 and we anticipate their India launch to happen in early 2025. Both the SUVs will be based on the new INGLO platform, which will also underpin future Mahindra EVs.
Previous spy shots and teasers have given us a glimpse of their exterior and interior design, and In this report, we take a look at their battery specifications, power output and charging time. The Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e will be offered with battery packs of 59 kWh and 79 kWh sizes. Based on the new INGLO platform, the SUVs are capable of having both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive systems.
Mahindra has revealed that in the rear-wheel drive configuration, the electric motor is capable of producing between231 PS and 286 PS. These numbers make them the most powerful Mahindra cars to date. An all-wheel drive system with dual motors might also be introduced with the two EVs, the numbers for which haven’t been divulged yet.
The BE 6e and XEV 9e will have fast-charging capabilities of recharging from 20 percent to 80 percent in just 20 minutes, using a 175 kW DC charger. While the claimed range has not been revealed yet, we expect the figures to be over 500 km for both EVs.
The BE 6e is the production-ready version of the BE 05 Concept, while the XEV 9e is the production-spec model of the XUV e9. The former is a compact electric SUV with futuristic features and sporty design elements, while the latter is an SUV-coupe with a more sophisticated look and plenty of modern design elements. The latest teaser has shown both these SUVs with the new Mahindra logo. Furthermore, design bits like flush door handles, connected lighting elements and aerodynamic alloy wheels will be present on both the SUVs.

In a recent teaser, it was revealed that the BE 6e will come with a dual-screen setup, while the XEV 9e will get the new triple-screen layout which includes an entertainment screen for the co-driver.
Both the EVs will get a different steering wheel design, with the BE 6e getting a sporty two-spoke steering wheel. The teaser revealed that both will get large panoramic glass roofs. The XEV 9e will likely get an electrically operated panoramic sunroof that opens, and the BE 6e is expected to feature a fixed glass unit.
Other key expected features will include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, powered front seats with ventilation, fully digital driver’s display, multiple wireless phone chargers, multi-colour ambient lighting, and a premium audio system.
Safety features will likely include electronic stability control, multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors and ADAS.

The Mahindra BE 6e is expected to be priced anywhere from Rs 20 to Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom), while the larger XEV 9E will likely retail around the Rs 30 lakh mark (ex-showroom).
The BE 6e will compete with compact electric SUVs like the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV and also upcoming cars like the Maruti eVX and Hyundai Creta EV. The XEV 9e will go head-to-head with the upcoming Tata Harrier EV.
