Upcoming Mystery Commercial Electric Bike Spotted Testing

We recently came across spy shots of an upcoming electric bike being tested. Judging the images it is clear that this bike will likely be a commercial vehicle. So far, it is not clear which manufacturer this upcoming electric bike belongs to. Here’s everything we know so far:

The bike features an interesting design and styling, which looks similar to the ones we have seen on commercial vehicles. It features a single-piece seat that looks longer than the one on the Bajaj Freedom 125. 

Another interesting thing about it is the longer center stand. This likely indicates that the bike has larger ground clearance on offer. To enhance its load-carrying capacity, the e-bike offers a tail rack. The tail rack could accommodate accessories like a top box for last-mile deliveries. 

The bike is powered by a mid-mounted motor with a chain drive. The addition of a chain drive is a good choice, as it will make maintenance easier. The e-bike features a suspension setup that consists of a telescopic fork and twin-rear shock absorbers. 

It rolls on alloy wheels and consists of a twin-disc braking setup. The e-bike will also feature a combined braking system for added safety. Feature wise, it gets a LCD console judging by the spy shots.

The e-bike currently is far from a complete product, we expect it to get a lot more body work. The camouflage has hidden many aspects of the bike. So it is hard to say for sure how the final product will look like.

The commercial electric two-wheeler space is growing rapidly, with many big players entering this segment. Recently Ola Electric also unveiled their low speed EV offerings for last mile deliveries. We expect this bike to be launched sometime next year. Possibly with a price that is around the Rs 1 lakh mark (ex-showroom).
