River has updated their Indie e-scooter for 2025. The scooter now gets changes on the mechanical front, added features and also gets two new colours: Storm Grey and Winter White. The price has also increased by Rs 5,000 over the earlier model and now costs Rs 1.43 lakh..
The most significant change to the River Indie comes in the form of how power is sent to the rear wheel. It now gets a chain final drive system in place of the belt drive that was used earlier.
The other major change to this electric scooter is the addition of a dedicated reverse mode button. River says that this was done based on feedback it got from existing owners and potential customers. This should now make the e-scooter more convenient, easy to park, and move around tight parking areas.
The River Indie now gets two new paint shades: Winter White and Storm Grey. The paint schemes carried forward are: Summer Red, Spring Yellow and Monsoon Blue.
The price for the Indie has gone up by Rs 5,000 and it now costs Rs 1.43 lakh (ex-showroom).
River has plans to expand to other cities and open new dealerships there within the next two months. Belgaum, Cochin, Coimbatore, Hubli, Mysore, Uppal, Vellore and Vizag are on this list. They also aim to have a total of 25 showrooms in the country by March 2025.
The River Indie takes on rivals like the Ather Rizta, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida, TVS iQube and the Ola S1 Pro.
