With narrow lanes and tight parking spaces in most major Indian cities, there is surely a demand for compact cars that do the job of taking you from one place to another without taking up too much space on the road. One such car is the VinFast VF3, which is an electric micro SUV that has been showcased at the Auto Expo 2025 for public viewing. Well, there is no news yet about its launch in India, the VF3 might actually be an interesting car to see on our roads!
Here is more information about the VF3:
The dimensions of the VF3 are super compact, and it will also remind you of the iconic Tata Nano which had similar dimensions and proportions. The VF logo up front spans across the width and you get pretty basic-looking headlights that look a bit old-school. There is a blacked-out bumper which gives a contrasting look to the front.
In profile, you get black rugged wheel arches that add a bit of chunk to the appearance of the VF3. The door handles, ORVMs and pillars are also black in colour and you only get two doors for ingress and egress. It measures 3,190 mm in length, 1,679 mm in width and 1,622 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,075 mm. It sits on 16-inch wheels and provides an impressive ground clearance of 191 mm.
The rear has an almost flat look to it, with the VinFast logo running across the width of the tailgate. You get small tail lights that house plenty of vertical elements. The black treatment in the lower section of the bumper can be seen at the rear as well.
The cabin of the compact car is pretty simple and functional with no complications whatsoever. The main attraction is the large 10-inch infotainment system which dominates the dashboard and also does the job of a driver’s display since there is no separate display for the same. You get horizontal AC vents positioned above the AC controls. With no armrests and a lower centre console, passengers can access the back seat from the area between the front seats.
The rear seats can accommodate two passengers, but bulky or tall adults would prefer avoiding the second row. You get seatbelts for all four passengers and if you fold the seats, you get 285 litres of boot space.
The VF3 comes with an 18.64 kWh battery pack which is paired with an electric motor that produces 43.5 PS and 110 Nm, sending power to the rear wheels. It offers a claimed range of 215 km and supports fast charging as well, as it charges from 10 to 70 percent in just 36 minutes.
The VF3 could be launched in India at around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). It won’t have any direct rivals in India.
We think that a compact car like the VF3 would be an ideal fit for the narrow lanes and tight parking spaces, and it would also be easy to drive it around in traffic conditions. What do you think? Let us know in the comments section.
