Tata has just launched its first ‘pure EV’ in the form of the Punch EV. While it’s similar to the standard petrol-powered Punch in a couple of aspects, it gets Tata's brand new Acti.ev platform that will be seen on other electric vehicles to come out of the Tata stable. So understandably, there are a few novel bits on the Punch EV, which we haven’t seen on other electric Tatas, like the availability of a frunk.
Now, unlike the usual positioning for a charging port, which is on the left side of the rear quarter panel, Tata has incorporated the Punch EV’s port on the nose. Right below the middle of the connected DRL strip, with the new Tata badge on it, you’ll find the Punch EV’s charging port.
This can’t be opened with a simple press of the panel, no. So how exactly do you open it then? Watch us explain the same in the reel below:
So even if the electric switch release, for whatever reason, does not open the port, you won’t find yourself stuck with no way to charge the vehicle.
But that's not all; There are plenty more details about the Punch EV, including the multiple powertrain options and revised interior and new features, all of which can be found in our detailed image gallery.
