The big players are ready to step into the Indian EV game. Here’s what to look forward to

We have seen a bunch of electric two-wheelers debuting this year in our market. Apart from dedicated EV brands stepping up their game, mainstream ICE brand like TVS have upped the ante with their offerings. But that’s just the start. Here’s what we expect from other ICE two-wheeler brands:

Royal Enfield

The iconic bikemaker announced recently that it is planning to step into the EV segment, and the first product could be expected in 2026. Interestingly, the Indian marque is working on multiple platforms and ideas internally; however, it is yet to make any concrete announcements. Find more details in this story.

Honda

The Japanese marque has been sneakily spreading its wings into electric mobility. We broke the news of Honda testing the Benly e B2B electric scooter in India, but for Honda, this seems like an odd move, doesn’t it? Well, in all likelihood, Honda could be testing the Benly-e to get more insights on our riding conditions and could launch an Activa-based product to cash-in on the moniker’s popularity.

Yamaha

In a dealers’ conference this year, Team Blue showcased the Neo’s – its new electric two-wheeler in India. But with a range of upto 68km, should Yamaha really get this to India? Well, we think that might not be the case. Yamaha could instead bring a new product specific to our market. Here’s what the Yamaha Neo’s is all about.

Suzuki

The Burgman Electric being tested in India sparked a lot of speculation. It looked production ready and due for launch this year. However, our exclusive story burst the bubble around the debut Suzuki’s first electric two-wheeler. The delay in launch is good news, as Suzuki has prioritised safety and quality of the product.
