It's the day of love – Happy Valentine to our readers! Mahindra has reciprocated so by finally opening order books for the Mahindra XEV 9e alongside the BE 6. You can now officially put your name for the electric SUV coupe and expect delivery by March.

The XEV 9e is offered in a total of four variants, eight colour options, two battery packs and an array of modern features and great safety on board. It can madly sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.8 seconds. That’s a lot of punch to make your highway overtakes feel like a breeze. In fact, despite its rapid pace, the XEV 9e never feels frantic. It’s one of those cars that masks its speed so well that you’ll find yourself cruising at triple-digit speeds without even realizing it.

Mahindra XEV 9e

For everyday city driving, the XEV 9e is a delight. The regenerative braking system is well-tuned, allowing for smooth stops without the jerky feel some EVs have. Even if you are one of the first-time EV drivers, you will find it easy to adapt to it. Mahindra claims the 79 kWh variant can cover 500 km on a full charge, and our expert’s test run was promising: after driving 80km, only about 15% of the battery was used. This means it’s not just well-suited for daily commutes but also a solid weekend getaway companion without frequent charging stops.

Not all for the driver, the XEV 9e also packs in great comfort for the co-passengers both in front and rear. The steering is light, making it surprisingly easy, considering its big size, to maneuver through traffic, and the suspension absorbs bumps effortlessly, giving you a comfortable ride even on rough roads. Unlike some soft-sprung SUVs that can feel wobbly at high speeds, this one absorbs potholes and rough patches with ease maintaining its stability and keeping you confident on highways. Whether you’re cruising in ‘Everyday’ mode, conserving power in ‘Range’ mode, or pushing the limits in ‘Race’ mode, the XEV 9e delivers a well-balanced and engaging drive experience.
