Deliveries for the MG Comet EV are slated to commence in a phase-wise manner from May 22 onwards

MG Motor India has opened official bookings for its ultra compact EV, the Comet. Interested customers can reserve their Comet either online via its official website or through a MG dealership. Test drives are already available and deliveries of the electric vehicle will begin in a phased manner from May 22 onwards. 

With prices starting from Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom), the Comet EV is the carmaker’s entry-level vehicle in the country. It is offered in three broad trims: Pace, Play and Plush. In terms of features, the MG Comet EV comes packing dual 10.25-inch screens comprising a digital driver’s display and touchscreen infotainment system. Other highlights include manual AC, Apple iPod-like steering mounted audio controls, digital key with sharing ability and front power windows.

The MG Comet EV is powered by a 42PS rear mounted e-motor that is fueled by a 17.3kWh battery pack, which promises a claimed range of 230km. No fast charging option is available with this model, but using a 3.3kW home charger, it takes seven hours to charge from zero to 100 percent.
