The Hyundai Creta Electric and Maruti Suzuki e Vitara are ready for their first public appearance as production versions at the forthcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Both cars feature distinct styling characters, features, and powertrains. They also feature a modern interior, featuring two displays and advanced tech. Here we explain to you the interior and feature differences between the two electric SUVs.
The Creta Electric boasts a familiar but more upmarket interior with a dual-tone theme in white and blue. The dual-screen setup has been carried forward. But there is a new steering wheel similar to the one we have seen on the Tucson facelift, which made its global debut a few months back.
Unlike the Creta, it features a new, minimalist lower centre console layout and the conventional gear stick has been replaced with a stalk-style drive mode selector mounted on the steering wheel column. The console also houses two cubby holders and switches to adjust front seat ventilation.
While the Creta offers a slew of features, the Creta Electric adds more in-cabin tech, such as a powered co-driver's seat with memory settings, an electric boss mode, foldable tables attached to the back of the front seats, multiple USB Type-C ports, and rear window sunblinds. The boot space of the electric SUV stands at 433 litres while there is a 22-litre front trunk (frunk).
Suzuki has already revealed the interior of the e Vitara for some international markets that feature a dual-tone black and brown theme. The India-spec model is expected to get a similar treatment.
Like the exterior of the electric SUV, the design of its cabin differs from the Maruti Suzuki models sold in the country and is much like the modern electric cars. For instance, one highlight of the interior is the dual-screen setup, comprising a touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster.
Then, there is a new two-spoke steering wheel with flat top and bottom ends. The air-con vents feature a squarish layout and are placed vertically with a prominent silver frame. The silver accents can also be seen on the doors and the steering wheel.
The lower centre console houses a wireless charging pad, two cup holders, a rotary-style driver mode selector, a few switches, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold.
Key highlights of the Creta Electric include a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch dual-screen setup (driver’s display and infotainment system), ventilated front seats, an in-car payment system, and an 8-speaker Bose sound system, and digital key. The safety kit comprises 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, a blind spot monitor, an electronic stability programme (ESP), a hill hold assist, and Level 2 ADAS.
The feature list of the e Vitara consists of a dual-display setup (a fully digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system), a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, a wireless car charger, connected car tech, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. On the other hand, the India-bound model is expected to come equipped with a 360-degree camera, six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist, and ADAS.
Both cars are equipped at par with each other, giving each other a very tough fight.
The Creta Electric and e Vitara come with two battery pack options, however, the specs of the latter are yet to be confirmed for the market. Hyundai offers a 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery pack with an ARAI range of up to 390 km and 473 km, respectively. It also supports DC and AC fast charging, The power output of an electric motor is rated at 135 PS and 171 PS.
On the other hand, the e Vitara available in international markets gets 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs paired with either a single or a dual-motor setup. Power output ranges between 144 PS / 189 Nm and 184 PS / 300 Nm depending on the battery-motor combination.
Both electric SUVs will rival the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV. They will also serve as an economical alternative to the BYD Atto 3.
In conclusion, the electric Creta follows the suit of the Creta with the upscale and premium interior, offering additional in-cabin features, particularly for the rear-seat passengers. Key stand-out in-cabin features include electric boss mode, rear foldable tables, sunblinds, and dual-zone AC. The e Vitara cabin sets itself apart from the other Maruti Suzuki cars and appears to offer a premium and fairly feature-rich cabin. Both electric SUVs offer modern and distinct interiors. However, the Hyundai Creta Electric seems to excel at the in-cabin experience on paper with some special features.
