Choosing the right family car

If it's a joint family, then you may have to opt for a minivan, and if it's a nuclear family a large sedan might do the trick. For young couples with no kids a hatchback could be ideal. Figure out the number of people on board, don't forget to count the nanny or maid, for today we tend to take them along as well.

How often will you use the family car is important in determining a couple of other needs. If you intend on using it sparingly, then its best to pick up a petrol engined vehicle. If your family car will be doing a lot of driving, a diesel might be a better option. Will the family car also double as your weekly office vehicle? In which case you will have to find something stylish as well as practical.


Practical is right

The prime characteristic of a family car is practicality. Does it suit the purpose? Does it come with the right amount of gadgets to keep everyone comfortable? For example a large family needs a big vehicle and therefore there should be A/C vents for all the rows of seating.
