The Kawasaki Z125 and Z125 SE remain mechanically unchanged

Kawasaki has been steadily updating its models since the last few months, and the latest one to be included in the 2021 range is the Z125. But as with most of the new green beauties, the updates are limited to new paint jobs.

Kawasaki has introduced new shades of Metallic Flat Spark Black, Pearl Flat Stardust White/Metallic Spark Black and Candy lime Green/Metallic Spark Black, with the latter two reserved for the SE variant. The baby Z takes its design cues from bigger siblings of the Z family. While the bike looks smashing in the new colours, we would have loved to see an update from the ER6-N-inspired fascia to something based on the new Sugomi design language which is present on the Z650 and Z900. The current face looks outdated and that’s a bit of a shame for such a funky little bike.

The Kawasaki Z125 continues to use the same 125cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing 15PS at 10,000rpm and 11.7Nm at 7,700rpm. This is the maximum permissible power under the A1 driving license requirement in the European market. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

This engine is nestled in the same steel diamond-type frame suspended using a 37mm telescopic fork offering 110mm travel and a preload-adjustable monoshock with 120mm travel. For braking, Team Green has used the same 290mm and 220mm petal discs at both ends, armed with dual-piston calipers.

The 2021 Kawasaki Z125 has been priced at EUR 4,399 (Rs 3.78 lakh approx) for the standard variant while the SE variant will set you back by EUR 4,499 (Rs 3.87 lakh roughly). The baby Z is definitely not coming to India anytime soon, but if it does, it will lock horns with the KTM 125 Duke which is currently priced at Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)
