The Aprilia RSV4 is regarded as one of the best sport bikes ever made. It is a potent track weapon that has been refined over decades. Now, Aprilia has improved its potency and launched a limited-edition, track-only version of the bike, called the RSV4 XTrenta. And boy is it something!
To start off, Aprilia has put its MotoGP learnings into good effect as the XTrenta has a lot of similarities with its RS-GP prototype racer. Like the spoon swingarm, winglets, SC Project exhaust system and a lot more bits are built by using MotoGP tech.
Since the XTrenta is a track-only bike, it doesn’t need to meet any emission norms whatsoever. So, Aprilia has had a free reign to tune the motor to the max. As a result, the 1,099cc V4 motor now doles out a whopping 230PS, which, when you consider that the bike weighs only 166kg, gives you a phenomenal power-to-weight ratio.
To put down this incredible performance safely on tarmac, Aprilia has taken help of electronics specialist Magneti Marelli to tune the track-spec ECU. Plus, the Ohlins suspension components have been developed alongside the race team, and you get super grippy Pirelli Diablo SBK slick tyres for ultimate traction while setting blistering hot laps.
Considering that only 100 units of this bike will be made, Aprilia’s pricing has made sure that the RSV4 XTrenta will only end up in serious hands. It costs a whopping 50,000 Euros without VAT, which roughly translates to Rs 40 lakh, and that is before you factor in shipping, customs and stuff. Aprilia will invite the buyers to pick up their bikes from the racing department at its factory in Noale, so that is something to look forward to for these lucky 100 owners.
