Leaked patent submission drawings from China reveal interesting information about an upcoming 800cc naked bike from Benelli. While this new motorcycle looks visually identical to the Benelli 752 S, it features a completely new engine that delivers potent performance.
The 752 S is powered by a 754cc twin-cylinder engine that produces 76.2PS and 67Nm. However, this new upcoming bike features a 799cc two-cylinder mill that develops an impressive 96.5PS. While the power output of the upcoming bike is significantly more than that of the 752 S, the new bike’s kerb weight too is comparatively reduced, as it weighs 208kg, 12kg lighter than the 752 S.
The 800cc bike could very well be the successor of the 752 S and its underpinnings including the 50mm Marzocchi golden inverted front fork and rear KYB monoshock with pre-load adjustability, are expected to be the same.
Braking duties are shared between double semi-floating 320mm Brembo discs at the front and a 260mm rear disc, with the safety net of dual-channel ABS. Tyre specs of the upcoming bike remain the same as the 752 S in the form of 120/70-R17 at the front and 180/55-R17 at the rear.
It would be interesting to see this bike make its way to India given that Adishwar Auto Ride has been on a roll, introducing new brands and products in the Indian market. While Zontes and Keeway would cater to the sub-400cc segment, Benelli and Moto Morini would look after the mid-displacement and middleweight segment. However, it will take a while for this bike to be officially launched globally.
