While BMW enthusiasts look forward to the Bavarian firm’s next electric motorcycle, a design study by Vietnamese design centre Carota Design might be of interest. The design firm has unveiled the BMW E-Scooter concept that, in our opinion, looks better than BMW’s own ‘Concept Link’ showcased in 2017.

Like most modern BMW future design interpretations, the E-Scooter concept has Z-shaped bodywork made possible by having design elements like a floating seat. The headlamp setup is a series of LED strips running across the front apron. Above it sits an exposed handlebar with what appears to be a transparent tablet-like floating instrument console. On the rider’s side, the apron holds a red start button, indicating keyless ignition. The floating seat is unique as well and has an LED stripe wrapped across the back. However, we feel the rear mudguard feels out of place among the scooter’s straight lines.

Since the E-Scooter concept is purely a design study at the moment, there are no specifications really. However, we reckon a battery pack can be placed inside the floorboard and an electric motor could be below the seat. The underpinnings appear to be more practical. It gets telescopic forks, twin shock absorbers, dual discs up front and a disc brake at the back with spoke wheels wrapped in low profile tyres.
As mentioned before, the E-Scooter is a design concept and has limited practicality especially when it comes to storage space. It does have some design elements we would love to see on the next BMW Electric scooter. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
