The Harley-Davidson Low Rider S has been a quintessential Harley with a dash of performance-oriented genes. And for 2022, the American bikemaker has bolstered it with even more performance. Details of the 2022 Harley-Davidson Low Rider S have been leaked ahead of its official unveiling on January 26.
The biggest update on the 2022 Harley-Davidson Low Rider S is the new bigger, more powerful Milwaukee Eight 117 V-twin, replacing the older 114 unit. This 1923cc V-twin heart churns out 104.4PS at 4,750rpm and 169Nm at 3,500rpm, making it 10.59PS more powerful and 14Nm torquier than before. The motor also gets a Screamin’ Eagle Heavy Breather air filter for better performance. And the updates don’t stop at that, as Harley-Davidson has also incorporated a new rear monoshock with 25mm longer travel (112mm now). Consequently, the seat height has gone up from 690mm to 710mm. Even the lean angle has gone up from 30 degrees to 31.3 degrees.
Additionally, Harley has also incorporated a new dual-pod analogue instrument cluster with a digital inset replacing the single-pod tank-mounted one in the 2021 iteration. This should offer better visibility and we hope it also packs more info than its predecessor.
Apart from these, the rest of the motorcycle remains the same as before. The bike continues to use an inverted front fork, twin discs up front with axial calipers, and a disc at the rear. Surprisingly, though, despite the larger engine, the 308kg kerb weight remains unchanged. Besides, the fuel tank capacity also remains the same, at 18.9 litres.
The 2021 Low Rider S was priced at GBP 16,995 (around Rs 17.29 lakh), so expect the 2022 model to be dearer by around Rs 1.5 lakh. More details will be revealed in the January 26 event, so stay tuned. As for its launch in India, expect the 2022 model to arrive later this year.
