The wait is finally over! After an influx of multiple spy shots, Tata Motors has taken the wraps off the much anticipated – and heavily revised – 2023 Nexon on our shores. Prices are set to be announced on September 14. This is the first major overhaul for the popular nameplate, which now gets plenty of influence from the Curvv concept, and the changes extend beneath the skin. It'll come in seven trims with nomenclatures similar to Punch: Smart, Smart +, Pure, Creative, Creative +, Fearless and Fearless + S.
It’s safe to say that the Nexon now looks more modern and chic, thanks to plenty of influence from the Curvv concept. The front is heavily revised, featuring a closed-off grille that merges onto the LED DRLs. Below it is the new large airdam and LED projector headlights (a first for a Tata) in a triangular housing.
The side profile is similar to the outgoing model, save for the new 5-spoke alloys. And at the rear, the subcompact SUV features new connected LED tail lamps that gives it a premium outlook. A tweaked bumper with sharp design touches round off the overall design.
On the inside, the 2023 Nexon’s cabin has been overhauled and looks more minimalist. Some influences from the Curvv, such as the two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo and touch-based climate control, can be seen here. It continues to feature a floating infotainment system, now featuring Tata’s larger 10.25-inch unit.
Other elements that are new in the Nexon cabin include a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display and a Land Rover-style gear lever for the automatic variants.
Apart from the aforementioned elements, new features on board the Nexon include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, ambient lighting, and up to six airbags.
Bits such as ventilated front seats, cruise control, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, wireless phone charger, and a sunroof have been retained. On the safety front, it continues to get electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and rear parking sensors.
Underneath the hood, the 2023 Tata Nexon gets the existing 1.2-litre turbo-petrol 1.5-litre diesel engine. However, the former now gets the choice of a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Here’s a look at the detailed specifications:

We suspect the facelifted Tata Nexon to command a premium over the outgoing model that’s priced from Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to rival the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite and upcoming Mahindra XUV300 facelift.
