The Tenere 700 World Raid features upgraded fully-adjustable suspension and a bunch of rally-themed goodies
  • Features rally-style dual fuel tanks with combined capacity of 23 litres.
  • Gets a new full-colour TFT display.
  • Continues to be powered by the same 689cc parallel-twin engine as before.
  • The 2022 Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid has made its debut in the European market after making its first public appearance at EICMA last year. The upgraded ADV is a big step-up from the current model, and now poses a serious threat to the KTM 890 Adventure and BMW F 850 GS.

The new Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid features new, beefy bodywork. This includes new side-mounted dual fuel tanks with a combined capacity of 23 litres (standard has a 16-litre tank), which should aid mass centralisation and improve handling.

Other changes to improve the Tenere’s riding capabilities include new fully-adjustable KYB USD fork with 230mm travel, adjustable monoshock with 220mm travel, Ohlins steering damper, and three-mode ABS system. Furthermore, the seat now has a split setup for easy removal of the pillion unit to equip the bike with luggage rack and other accessories.

Team Blue has also swapped the vertical LCD console with a full-colour TFT dash with three different display styles. Unfortunately, even though the bike now has Bluetooth connectivity, there is no turn-by-turn navigation.

The Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid continues to be powered by the same 689cc parallel-twin engine producing 73.4PS at 9000rpm and 68Nm at 6500rpm (same as the standard model). However, at 220kg, the World Raid is a good 16kg heavier than the standard Tenere 700.

The Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid has been priced at EUR 11,600 or Rs 9.90 lakh. While this certainly seems like an interesting ADV, it is unlikely to come to India. So, if you are looking for a do-it-all ADV at this price, you are limited to the Suzuki V-Strom 650XT, priced at Rs 8.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
