In terms of new car launches, April 2024 was a full house and then some. We got new special editions, model year updates, and even the new Mahindra XUV 3XO (XUV300 facelift) broke cover. However, the onslaught won’t continue with the same intensity as it seems like May 2024 will get just three new car launches. And while the number may not be big, the cars themselves are bound to have a significant impact on the market.
Without further ado, here are the three cars expected to arrive in May 2024:
In adding practicality to the off-road capabilities of the standard Gurkha, Force took the covers off the elongated 5-door version of the SUV. The updates on the 5-door Gurkha have also been implemented on the standard 3-door Gurkha, with changes coming in the form of new features and a more powerful powertrain. The updated Gurka is set to launch on May 2 with prices starting from around Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). Until then, you can head to our detailed image gallery to know all the dope on it.
While we can’t pin the date on the calendar just yet, the new-gen Maruti Swift could launch in India in the first half of May 2024. The 2024 Swift has already been launched in multiple international markets and has even been teased here in India. It carries a redone exterior, a revised (Fronx and Baleno-inspired) cabin, new features, improved safety and a new powertrain as well. A lot has changed for what is the fourth generational update for the Swift nameplate, and you can know all the details about it in our image gallery article.

First teased back at the Auto Expo in 2023, this racy-fied version of the Altroz has only made a single appearance since at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. But it seems like the wait is finally coming to an end, as the Altroz Racer is expected to launch in May 2024.
To fight the Hyundai i20 N Line, the Altroz Racer gets a host of sporty cosmetic tweaks, new features and a Nexon-sourced 120 PS/170 Nm 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. With both manual and automatic transmissions expected to be on offer, the Altroz Racer’s recipe seems like the perfect one for a hot hatch. Until you can get your hands on one, head to our gallery article for more details on it.
