Suzuki has taken the wraps off the Baleno premium hatchback in South Africa. While the upgrades are similar to the India-spec model, there's one major difference. Matters of the heart, we tell you!
The 2022 Baleno in the Rainbow Nation gets a 105PS 1.5-litre petrol engine (from the Ciaz and the S-Cross) instead of the 90PS 1.2-litre DualJet unit. While the 5-speed manual transmission has been retained, the automatic variants get the 4-speed torque converter, which is smoother and more refined than the 5-speed AMT we get here.
Take a look at the specification comparison in the table below:

Apart from this, the South Africa-meant Baleno is exactly the same as the one here. Check out the 2022 Baleno in our detailed image gallery.
In India, the hatchback is priced between Rs 6.35 lakh and Rs 9.49 lakh (ex-showroom), and it rivals the Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, and the soon-to-be-launched Toyota Glanza.
