The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno has sent the booking registers ringing, racking up over 50,000 reservations within barely a month of its launch on February 23. The premium hatchback is a petrol-only offering and is currently priced from Rs 6.35 lakh onwards. It is offered in four broad trims: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha.
Underneath the hood is Maruti’s very own 90PS 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine, paired with a standard 5-speed manual and an optional 5-speed AMT (for the top three trims only). There is no CVT nor mild-hybrid tech this time around. The manual transmission variants return 22.35kmpl, while the AMT variants can take you 22.94km on a litre.
The 2022 Baleno gets new features like a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an Arkamys-tuned sound system, connected car tech with Alexa support (telematics only), a 360-degree camera, and a head-up display. Passenger safety has been bolstered by six airbags and electronic stability control, apart from the usual.
