Suzuki has launched the updated 2022 versions of the Swish 125 and the Saluto 125 in Taiwan. Both the scooters get a new engine and a host of new features. The Swish 125, a sporty offering by the company, comes in two variants starting at NT$82,800 (around Rs 2.21 lakh), whereas the retro-styled Saluto 125 is priced at NT$83,800 (around 2.24 lakh).
Both scooters are powered by the new 124cc Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) engine developed in Japan. The single-cylinder air-cooled motor churns out 8.8PS and 9.6Nm on both the scooters.
The Swish 125 employs a more sporty design with sharp body styling that stays minimal. It takes inspiration from the new Suzuki Hayabusa with the apron-mounted LED headlight design with DRLs and bulb indicators, and features faux air intakes for a sportier appeal. The scooter also adopts the same color scheme as the Hayabusa: Black/Gold, Silver/Red, and Blue/Silver.
The Saluto, on the other hand, gets a retro-styled design that reminds us of the Suzuki Access 125 in India. It features a rounded design and gets LED DRLs and sleek looking indicators on the apron. The rectangular taillight and circular rear view mirrors complete the retro appeal of the scooter.
On the features front, the Swish 125 comes packed with a USB charging port, and a fully digital instrument cluster that displays speed, mileage, fuel level, time, and oil change alert. It also features an anti-skid footboard and an apron-mounted storage space.
The Saluto, although retro styled, gets a bunch of modern features like keyless ignition and unlocking, front fuel cap, a hazard lamp, a multi-function switch to open the boot and fuel lid, and a semi-digital instrument cluster that displays time, mileage, fuel level, and speed. It also gets a USB charging port and fast charging, however, both the scooters miss out on smartphone connectivity.
The Suzuki Swish 125 and Saluto 125 will not be heading to our shores anytime soon, but we do have the Suzuki Avenis for a sporty scooter and the Access 125 for a retro themed scooter in the country. Apart from that you can also check out the TVS NTorq and TVS Jupiter 125.
