2023 Harley-Davidson Cruiser, Sportster And ADV Range Launched In India

Harley-Davidson’s 2023 range is here and the cost of some of the bikes show why the brand is considered a lifestyle one. Gone were the days when its most affordable bike, the Street 750, cost a mouth-watering Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), with some bikes in its portfolio costing nearly 10 times that money! It isn’t all that surprising considering all Harleys in India are now sold via the CBU route. Here’s a lowdown on each model’s cost: 

2023 Harley-Davidson Sportster Range

The 2023 Nightster is the lightest (221kg kerb) Harley at the moment. It is also the least expensive bike from the company. There are no changes for the 2023 iteration except for the lack of a headlight cowl in the standard variant.

The Nightster Special is a newly introduced variant costing Rs 80,000 more than the standard model. This variant features the headlight cowl along with a pillion seat and footpegs. The flat-track-themed Sportster S remains the same as its predecessor.

2023 Harley-Davidson Cruiser Range

Harley’s cruiser range contains three bikes from three eras. The most affordable one, the Fat Bob, is the most modern and sporty among the three. Next is the Fat Boy 114, the modern iteration of the iconic bike from Terminator 2, thanks to design tweaks and all-LED lighting. 

Next is a 70s-themed bike but with modern goodies, the Heritage Classic. Add Rs 14,000 to the Heritage Classic’s price and you can get home a Ducati Multistrada V4 S. Just saying….

2023 Harley-Davidson ADV Range

There’s no longer the standard Pan America on sale. If you want to buy the H-D ADV, you will only get the bike in the more advanced Special trim. It will still come with the option to spec with alloys or tubeless spoke rims, although you will have to shell out another lakh of rupees for the latter. Mechanically, there are no changes to the ADV and Harley hasn’t even added a new colour to the options list for it.

But if you’re looking to munch miles in sofa-like comfort, nothing beats these big bad boys. Yes, the money will get you a luxurious car or even a nice 1BHK (depending on where you live). Heck, you could even get a Ducati Supersport 950, Scrambler Icon Dark and a Multistrada V2 - three different bikes belonging to different genres - all for nearly the same amount of money! 

But what the Street Glide Special and the Road Glide Special do, is give you an experience like none other. With an incredible amount of comfort, enough space to move houses, loaded with car-like features, and a big torquey V-twin throbbing between your legs, these bikes insist on making things ultra comfy.

Additionally, the Fat Boy 114, Heritage Classic, Street Glide Special and the Road Glide Special, all get special 120th Anniversary editions with beautiful looking colour finishes but at a hefty price, ranging from Rs 90,000 to Rs 3,00,000 over the standard editions of the bikes! What you get for the extra money is the gorgeous dark red paint scheme, different and bolder Harley-Davidson branding on the tank and a dual-tone treatment given to the bikes' seats and panniers too. 

These prices have pushed Harley-Davidson bikes into an even smaller niche. An average person has to wait till his/her 40s or even 50s  to be able to afford its top-end bikes. The brand has understood this, which is why it has partnered with Hero and is all set to bring a bike that could cost under Rs 3 lakh on-road!
