UPDATE: Hyundai India has launched the 2023 Verna in the country, with prices starting from Rs 10.9 lakh.
A dark grey 2023 Hyundai Verna has been spied on, colour not offered with the previous model.
New Verna bears a sleek design with a broad front grille and sharp body creases.
Will be offered with 1.5-litre NA and turbo-petrol engines with automatic options.
New features include ventilated front seats, a digital driver’s display and driver-assistance and active safety features (ADAS).
Launch tomorrow (March 21, 2023), prices expected to start at around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hyundai is about to launch the all-new, 2023 Verna in India tomorrow, and just ahead of its full official unveiling, we’ve got a new set of real-life images that give us our first proper look at the sedan.
At the front, the Hyundai Verna’s broad, black-finish grille and full-width LED DRL looks sporty and futuristic. The headlights are multi-LED reflector units placed at each corner of the grille.
The front-end’s sportiness gives way to a more executive sedan-like silhouette when the Verna is viewed in the profile. It gets new dual-tone alloy wheels and a coupe-esque roofline that slopes downward at the rear all the way to the sharply styled taillights.

Despite this design choice, the Verna has a separate bootlid, not a tailgate like older Skoda Octavias.
Although the rear-end isn’t visible in these images, we know from a wealth of teasers and leaks that the Verna will get connected taillights and a similar boot lid design as the Elantra sold overseas.
Inside, the Verna will get a dual-screen panel housing its large 10.25-inch touchscreen and digital driver’s display. In addition, it’ll be equipped with switchable AC and navigation controls, a neat two-spoke steering wheel, a sunroof, ventilated and heated front seats and a Bose sound system.
As for its safety, the Verna will be equipped with driver-assistance and active safety features including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, high-beam assist and forward collision avoidance. It should get six airbags, stability control and a 360-degree camera as well.
The new Verna gets two engine options – a 116PS 1.5-litre NA petrol unit and a 150PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit. A six-speed manual ‘box will be standard with both engines; the NA unit will get the option of an iVT (CVT) automatic, while the turbo-petrol unit will get a seven-speed DCT option.

Hyundai Verna 2023 To Launch Tomorrow: Design, Features, Specifications, Expected Price And Rivals
We expect the Hyundai Verna to start from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards, but keep in mind that the turbo-petrol, automatic variant is likely to be priced much steeper. The Verna will rekindle its rivalry with the Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus.
