Tata Motors has taken the wraps off the new 2023 Harrier facelift ahead of its expected launch in the coming days. You can reserve one from today onwards and prices are expected to be announced in the coming days. This is the first major design refresh for the midsize SUV, which has been on sale since January 2019.
The major design refresh for the Harrier takes inspiration from the Curvv concept and looks chic. It gets a new closed off grille with silver inserts and a connected LED DRL that spans the width of the car. Below it are the triangular housing, which features new LED headlights and foglamps. The bumper has also been tweaked and adds to the overall aggressive look.
In profile, save for the newly styled wheels and ‘Harrier’ badging on the front doors, no major changes have been made. And coming to the rear, you get a new set of connected LED tail lamps and a tweaked bumper.
As for colours, you get to choose from 7 options: Sunlit Yellow, Coral Red, Pebble Grey, Lunar White, Oberon Black, Seaweed Green and Ash Grey.

Step inside the refreshed Harrier and you’ll be greeted by a heavily redesigned dashboard with more straighter lines and design elements. It continues to get a floating infotainment system, featuring a larger 12.3-inch unit from the Nexon EV. Right below it are the sleek AC vents and the touch-based controls for the new dual-zone climate control functionality.
Other design changes include the presence of a new four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo and a Land Rover-inspired gear lever for the automatic variant. The drive mode selector has also been updated with a display in between.
New features onboard the 2023 Harrier include a fully digital 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a knee airbag (total: 7), powered tailgate with gesture opening, rear sunshades and powered co-driver’s seat.
Bits such as ventilated front seats, connected car tech, panoramic sunroof, keyless entry with push button start, electronic stability control and ADAS have been carried forward from before.
The Tata Harrier continues to rely on its 170PS 2-litre diesel engine, teamed with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The latter now also features paddle shifters if you intend to take matters into your own hands. As for fuel efficiency, the manual returns a claimed 16.8kmpl and automatic delivers 14.6kmpl.
Considering the number of significant changes, the new Harrier is expected to command a premium over the outgoing model, which was priced from Rs 15.2 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to lock horns with the MG Hector, Mahindra XUV700 5-seater and Jeep Compass. Apart from that, it will also lock horns with compact SUVs such as Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
