The new BMW 5 Series has reached the dealerships ahead of its launch on July 24, 2024. The new luxury sedan from the German carmaker features updated styling for the exterior, an upgraded cabin which now looks more modern and will initially come with a sole petrol engine. It’s also the first time BMW is offering the 5 Series with a long wheelbase version to take on the extremely popular Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
Bookings are open, but before you decide to go to the dealerships, here is a quick look at the upcoming 5 Series and what it has to offer:
The 5 Series LWB sports BMW’s kidney grille which is now sharper, and to further enhance that, there is illumination to it as well. Apart from the grille, you will notice the sleek headlights and the aggressively styled bumper.
BMW will offer it with 2 wheel options: an 18-inch 10-spoke rims and a 19-inch 14-spoke rims. For a better stance, we feel you should pick the latter. Other highlights on the side include the flush door handles.
The rear gets horizontal LED tail lights and diffuser-like elements which dial up the sportiness of the sedan. It overall looks sharper and more angular than before.
As of now, BMW has revealed only 3 colours for the 5 Series: Carbonic Black, Mineral White and Phytonic Blue.
The interior of the upcoming 5 Series has been completely made up of vegan materials, and is offered in a grey/brown coloured upholstery. The cabin has a futuristic design to it, and features generous use of ambient lighting. The dashboard is dominated by big screens consisting of a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and a 14.9-inch infotainment system.

Its safety kit will likely include multiple airbags, a tyre pressure monitor, a 360-degree camera, and electronic stability control.
The BMW 5 Series LWB will be offered in a single 530Li M Sport variant, at least for the initial period. The single variant on offer, will feature a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine, teamed with mild-hybrid tech, to make 258 PS. Transmission offered will be an 8-speed automatic transmission which will send power to the rear wheels. A diesel variant might also be launched in the future.
