After an extended spy shot stint, but relatively short-lived teaser campaign, the Hyundai Creta facelift is finally here in all its glory. This model is India-specific, and is quite different from the international-spec Creta facelift which was unveiled two years ago. There are seven broad trims on offer: E, EX, S, S(O), SX, SX Tech, and SX (O). Bookings for the SUV are already open and the launch is slated for January 16.
Unlike the outgoing Creta, which split opinions with its design, the facelift takes a modern and muscular approach with connected LED DRLs and taillights. The new squarer grille is more prominent than before, more upright, and it gets some heavy cladding on the bumper. The new square headlights are still positioned below the DRLs along with the fog lamps.
As is the case with the facelift, the silhouette is untouched, save for the addition of new alloy wheels. The rear gets hefty changes with the connected LED taillights with inverted ‘L’ shaped signature. The bumper, too, gets some heavy cladding for that muscular look.
Major work has gone into updating the cabin of the Hyundai Creta facelift with a dual tone theme which makes use of light colours and piano black elements. The entire dashboard has been redesigned and now houses dual 10.25-inch screens mounted on the same slim bezel.
There are splashes of ambient lighting all around the cabin and thankfully, the air con controls are made up of physical knobs and buttons with a separate display for them. Take a closer look at the 2024 Creta’s cabin here.
The facelift takes the already strong feature game of the Creta a notch up with multiple new features, which include the aforementioned digital driver’s display, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, and Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS). Features like ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a Bose sound system have been retained.
On the features front, ADAS is the biggest new addition, while equipment like six airbags, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control are offered as standard.
While the 2024 Hyundai Creta retains its 1.5-litre NA petrol and diesel engines, there is a new addition in the department. That comes in the form of the Verna-sourced 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. You can have this engine with just the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and this combo is limited to the top-end SX (O) variant. Here’s a look at all the powertrains offered with the 2024 Hyundai Creta:

Given that there have been significant changes to the package of the Creta facelift as a whole, we expect Hyundai to bump up the prices over the outgoing model, which retailed from Rs 10.87 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2024 Creta will continue its rivalry with compact SUVs like the Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and MG Astor.
